Jan. 4th, 2005 10:03 pmSo here's what happened over the last while.
Due to a combination of several factors--including but not limited to temporarily misplacing my wallet, a delayed train, a snowstorm, and a cancelled bus--I didn't make it home until about 3:00am on December 24. Unsurprisingly, I slept for most of the rest of the day before the Christmas Eve service at church; I sang in the choir at that and had a good time though the quality of music was dreadful. It was the usual schedule on Christmas day, opening presents in the morning and visiting relatives for the afternoon.
As usual, I did not go Boxing Day shopping. Another extended family get-together happened on the 27th. On the 28th, I went for a walk in the park with a friend and we had family friends (this family, actually) over for a very pleasant dinner. On the 29th, I slept in too late to meet with another friend in Toronto for an expedition to the ROM. On New Year's Eve, I saw the "Comedy Extravaganza" from the nosebleed section of Massey Hall. Highlights of the show were (as expected) Sean Cullen and The Frantics, and (somewhat unexpected) Jessica Holmes's Celine Dion impression and Daryn Jones. The last part of the evening was spent at a very nice pub in downtown Toronto.
On January 3rd, the family (minus Dad) went out for Deirdre's birthday. We very much enjoyed The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and were very much perturbed that no restaurants were selling dinner when the movie was over. And on the days in between those mentioned, I did very little indeed though there were many things I should have been doing. Mum, Deirdre and I did watch all but the first part of Pride and Prejudice (the miniseries with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth), however!
On January 4th, I returned to Kingston with too much luggage.
