the COC's opening performance at its long-awaited opera house: Wagner's Ring

In spite of any misgivings... my gosh, it's exciting. Though I'd rather be there in person, it's neat to be hearing Canada's first-ever Ring cycle live on the radio. If the broadcast quality is any indication, the acoustics are amazing. What a showcase for the orchestra. (But for fuck's sake, let the music finish before you clap, morons!)

Ooh, nasty. They're booing the director of Die Walkure. That's traditional, I take it?

Edit: from the COC's website: "The Four Seasons Centre has one washroom for every 20 patrons, two-thirds of which are for women." Yessss...
