Needless to say, I'm extremely busy. And whatever time is not taken up with rehearsals, practicing, homework, eating, chores, walking between places, and sleeping is most easily wasted in procrastination and dawdling.

Right now, I'm one of the (very) few who did not go home or away on holiday for (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend. At least there's one other person in the house, unlike last year. Today, I woke up late, barely made it to brunch and dinner, did my laundry, and cleared up the room a bit.

*Ahem*

On a slightly more interesting note...

    [inner] geek:
  • I continue learning fun Macintosh stuff, mostly having to do with servers & NetBoot-ing
  • I attended an utterly pointless "lecture" about the university's new network connection (hooked up with other universities around the world or some such--not that they told us anything about it at the meeting)

  • I'm on the food committee, where my job is to convey comments and concerns from the residents of my house (and the other Satellites) to the meal hall employees. The first meeting was held October 1. I got little across, and suspect this will usually be the case.

    entertainment:

  • I have yet to miss a showing of the "The Prisoner". A little group of semi-friends developing there. I'll take what friends I can get.
  • I saw Atanarjuat again (at Film Society). It was good. It makes a lot more sense the second time around.
  • the theatre season has started; I'll probably be too busy to get involved in any way (again), but I'll enjoy seeing plays regularly again
  • I had a fantastic time at a concert performed by The Silver Hearts. If you like your music energetic, eclectic, and weird, they are the band for you. (Could I really dislike any band that included sousaphone, chromatic harmonica, and both a musical saw and theremin?)
  • I've finally seen Spiderman, at the Toonie movie night on Friday. Am I normal now?

    stress:

  • this is prime MID-TERM EXAM season: two down, one to go (and it's a big one, the widely feared Theory mid-term, which the professor has already told me most people fail)
  • I've given all my professors "the talk" about my learning disability--glad that's over

    music, performance, etc.:

  • I'm in both the chorus and orchestra of Fiddler on the Roof, for the time being. The first orchestra practice went pretty well--I got several compliments on the accordion adding the right "feel"--but it was slightly painful.
  • re: the chorus side, I've also enjoyed those rehearsals and "dance camps". It will be a tough decision.
  • I've signed up to perform in a John Cage piece (Atlas Eclipticalis, I think it's called) during the John Cage festival this coming weekend. More free time bites the dust...
  • Choral Society is getting into enunciation stuff now, which I find oddly fun; after rehearsals I find myself saying/singing to myself, "G-lo-o-o-ry be-ee to Go-duh"

I need to catch up on my readings and work. Badly. This weekend doesn't look too promising. I was informed last year by a reliable source that no one ever gets any real work done on Thanksgiving weekend; so far, my experience corroborates this conclusion.
