Lent resolution
Mar. 17th, 2003 10:41 pmI don't think I've mentioned what I'm giving up for Lent yet. I'm not Catholic, or even a member of a denomination that tends to encourage fasting or similar observances. However, I still do consider myself a religious person, though probably not a Christian in the most orthodox sense, and I've been lacking in religious observance lately so I wanted to do something.
I'm not eating dessert. I figured this had historical precedent (giving up sugar, sweets) and was manageable. Originally, I had intended to forego dessert at the meal hall, but after noticing how frequently I miss meals there now (due to their new hours) I've pretty well decided to extend it to all desserts after meals.
