huge lounge equipped with large-screen TV, VCR, and DVD player: check
games room equipped with pool tables, foosball, table tennis, radio and sound system, state-of-the-art large-screen TV, and PlayStation 2: check
VHS, DVD, PlayStation library for use of residents: check
"Rez Express" convenience store: check
office for Jean Royce Hall Council (who officially use it 1.5 hours each weekday), equipped with state-of-the-art computers, TV, and DVD player: check
room filled with vending machines, vending machines in every entranceway: check
gymnasium, outdoor tennis courts and playing fields: check
"Music Room" (when not being used every weekend in September to monitor unconscious drunks), equipped with dusty piles of cushioned 1970s chairs, a couple plastic chairs, and barely operational unbelievably out-of-tune piano: no frickin' key available at the front desk any more!
(As if I didn't already have trouble finding opportunity to practice, largely because I live way the heck out here and have to fritter away so much time waiting for buses.) Apparently, it simply disappeared into thin air; I seriously doubt anyone's going to look into it.
I'm supposed to play in a recital tomorrow and I'm so unprepared it blows my mind. I can't sleep because I have such a sense of dread about both my flute lesson and the recital tomorrow. (That's why I tried to practice--figured I might as well use the time productively.)
[1] "15-minute walk from campus," my ass. I was forced to test this today: it took me 25 minutes, and I was in a hurry.
