I survived the Theory test today
Mar. 19th, 2004 12:13 amI rewarded myself by spending the evening at the movie theatre, watching The Barbarian Invasions (a.k.a. Les invasions barbares) and The Triplets of Belleville--both of which, in my humble opinion, are fantastic. (Unfortunately, I missed the first forty minutes of Barbarian Invasions.) My mad giggling at the Glenn Gould reference in Triplets probably puzzled the heck out of everybody in the theatre.
If you've always wanted to know what Quebec French sounds like and if you don't mind the absence of subtitles, video clips of Les invasions barbares can be viewed here. (The "doodles" on the site give a pretty clear indication of what most of the conversation is about!)
P.S. I played okay in Studio on Wednesday. Mum and Deirdre timed their visit to Kingston so that they could see it. We had a very nice dinner out in town, they departed, and then I frantically prepared for the Theory test until 5 or 6 in the morning.
