jaalaThe afternoon spent last week leaving messages on answering machines might have paid off.
It looks like I'll be teaching flute (and possibly other instruments) to at least three youngsters tomorrow at five. It was certainly ... uh ... sudden. Whether I'll receive monetary recompense, and how much if so, remains to be seen. I grew somewhat twitchy at the suggestion that I also teach some clarinet students, which I think was sensed by the lady at the other end of the line, so I may or may not end up with them.

soubrette's wedding is gone, I'm making a last-ditch effort to sign up for WhoserCon. I am going to be social this summer, dammit!

Actually, I was unusually social last Saturday, so I don't quite have an excuse to say that. I was invited quite suddenly to a party to celebrate a high school friend's acceptance into a teaching program at university. I'm normally horribly awkward at parties, but did manage to make myself fairly comfortable at this one. A lovely evening was spent (with the eight other people there) engaged in table tennis, restaurant dining, conversation, and most of all, friendly arguments... er, "discussions".
