The music director has asked you to cover the parts in the Reed V book; your role is very important because you fill out the lower end of the harmonies. You come across some numbers in your book written for bassoon and baritone saxophone--and there is no bassoon or baritone sax player in the orchestra. Wouldn't it make sense to transpose those sections and play them?
