Some of the academic pressure is off now. I decided at the advice of the Disability Services learning strategist to appeal to drop (without academic penalty) the course that was really stressing me out and that I would probably have failed anyway. Re-energized and ready for the final push, I had all sorts of plans for this weekend... and then I got a severe viral infections the grisly details of which I'll spare you from reading.

Miscellaneous other bits:

Canada recently took another large step towards legalizing gay marriage across the country. Nifty. (Marriages have been performed in many provinces but there is presently no national law.)

I have to hear this.

I just discovered the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trailer. The song is incredibly annoying but aside from that (and the Oompa-Loompa rock band?!) it looks promising.

The UK also rather quietly (or so it seemed to me) passed legislation to enable homosexual marriage (it's called "civil partnership", but it is marriage) last month. Various relationships legally registered in other countries are now recognised here, but there will be some delay (presumably to allow for the government to prepare and instruct register offices) before civil partnerships can be registered here. (I note that only two Canadian provinces are listed in the table I linked to, but presumably this will be corrected by a statutory instrument in due course.)
