Back-dated England entry #3: Monday
Feb. 24th, 2003 12:00 pmThis entry is being written almost two years after the fact (whoops), so it is skeletal. On Monday,
soubrette,
plotinus and I made an attempt at doing the standard Cambridge touristy thing. I finally found a hot shoe for my Olympus OM-1 at Campkins, which was all wonderful and fine and dandy, but still couldn't get the flash to function properly. After I returned home, I found that it would have worked had I merely attached and removed the hotshoe and a couple times in order to clean out some of the grime that had built up in the socket.
After giving up on the touristy thing, we had tea at
plotinus's. I examined a fascinating book his folks gave him to introduce him to the Cambridge University culture and witnessed
soubrette giving P a haircut to increasingly shocked looks provoked by her comments on the process. We headed to the Arts Cinema to see Mango Souffle, an amusing Bollywood movie that is apparently pretty notable for its gay characters and lack of musical numbers. Cool.
