Oh, my...

So, let's recap. Last year, I auditioned for the QMT orchestra and didn't get in. This year, I auditioned and got into the orchestra, practically became an honourary QMT photographer, was urged to apply to be music director next year, and was asked to be in the band for the spring show. And now... at the Annual General Meeting today, sherbear82 nominated me to be a general member of the board of directors; I didn't decline the nomination and, much to my surprise, was one of the six candidates voted in out of a field of... I don't remember how many, but certainly more than six. And all of a sudden, people who a few weeks ago weren't even all that aware of my existence were coming up to congratulate me.

This means that the possibility of applying for musical director is now definitively closed to me but, in all honesty, though it's something I would have loved to try I don't think I would have been able to handle the time commitment. And speaking of time commitments: this is all very exciting but I hope I haven't let myself get carried away. Time management now becomes a priority if I am to avert a mental breakdown in March, i.e. board transition, A New Brain production week, jury preparation, and final essay/assignment season.
