a Finding Neverland review of sorts
Feb. 11th, 2005 09:28 pmIt's LJ entry central today! Briefly...
I saw Finding Neverland yesterday and found it an odd combination of a really good and rather mediocre film. Generally, I'd say the performances are better than the movie. Despite a really predictable storyline, it has some very nice scenes. I would have enjoyed it a lot more without the stupid musical soundtrack. Several fantasy sequences are surprisingly boring visually. The cinematographer must have been smoking something interesting too.
I do hope the movie will encourage more people to read J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, a very strange but quite compelling book.
PS: Mackenzie Crook!
