Jun. 1st, 2005 12:08 pmLast night there was another fire, this time closer to the highway. Yeesh.
Something I forgot to mention before, another major happening in my life (at least compared to how dull it's been for the past while): I volunteered as a leader at a Girl Guiding event, teaching string games (learned as a child from Camilla Gryski's superb books) to girls aged 9 to 15. And though I disapproved of some poor organization and questionable safety precautions displayed by some of the people in charge of the Da Hon Neh Area Ontario 95th Anniversary Picnic, doing the actual teaching was tremendous fun. The best thing about it is when you spot kids later in the day, gathered in groups and teaching each other the figures.
As for the rest of my life: I'm terribly worried I'm not going to accomplish everything that needs to be done before I leave for the UK on Sunday. The blackout from midnight to 11:15 this morning did not help in this respect.
