It was shown on a specialty cable channel here in Canada last night. Bizarre. It's weird to think it was shown on BBC2; I daresay such a show would not be televised on CBC any earlier than 11pm.
That may be true. Perhaps HBO or something similar could get away with it though.
There were plans to bring it to Broadway, actually, but they appear to have fizzled. Considering that Avenue Q is such a huge Broadway hit, it might even have done well.
Personally, the concept would really impress me except that it gives money and publicity to Jerry Springer. As for the actual realization... both impressive and terrifying. For an example of the terrifying aspect, go to the (frequently mis-spelled) lyrics page and search for the word "barbed". Some of the music is pretty impressive though; it's difficult to know whether to call is a musical or an opera.
