i'll have to ask her! she's a vet-tech student herself, so she might just ask her teachers at st. laurence when something's up. the ratties were actually sad-experimented on ratties that she had to work with in first year and took home once their job was done. their names are rosie and thomasina and they are ubergreat.
mmm, experiments on animals are actually completely unnecessary and often counter productive, considering the advancements already made in the way of modeling the systems in the human body. but... if by "inevitable" you mean "cheaper and no one cares enough to change the situation in the foreseeable future", i would have to agree ^.^
