(no subject)
Aug. 22nd, 2002 03:10 amI had lunch with my Special Ed. teacher from high school today. She adores me. While I appreciate the encouragement and compliments, I don't know how to deal with it and get embarrassed. Once the greetings were over and done with and discussion moved on to topics aside from me, we got along famously as usual. The more I find out about her life, interests, and convictions the more different we seem, yet we somehow still find subjects to discuss extensively.
Now that I'm out of high school, she wants me to call her by her first name. I haven't been able to deal with that yet.

Deirdre really wanted to see the movie Possession, so we went to northern Toronto (an hour's drive, the nearest place it's playing) and saw it at a massive, ugly multiplex. I didn't actively dislike the movie but had to fend off boredom and eye-rolling throughout. I tried falling asleep (having gotten only 3-4 hours of sleep last night) but couldn't get comfortable. I made plans to explore the theatre if the movie wasn't over by 11:30, which it turns out it was.
In short... okay, I guess I didn't like the movie. I thought all the American/British stuff was pointless and distracting, the characters had little depth; it was obvious, predictable and badly directed. ("But tell us what you really think!" I hear you cry...)
However, it was nice to go on a family (i.e. those that usually participate) outing. That was probably my primary reason for going in the first place anyway.

Random thought: I ate at a restaurant twice today. Both times I ate too much food. I feel vaguely sick.
