"Bow before me, for I am root" *

In other words, I learned assistant administrator stuff today. I now have a key to the server room and know the root password, so if I suddenly go psychotic, I can completely screw up all of the computers in the lab. (They might not pay me then, though...)

Cold getting worse. Still have jury on Friday. Practice today (w/ small audience and accompanist) went okay. Professor will let me use her flute body, but not add my thumb rest, so it's a trade-off between good low notes and good technical facility.

Have to write a response to a 40-page essay (worth lots of marks, but only made available on Monday--argh!) by Friday. Still, need sleep desperately. Goodnight.
