Back-dated England entry #8: Saturday

(The late, late edition.)

soubrette was kind enough to stay awake all night with me; I knew I wouldn't be able to catch the taxi to the bus terminal at 4:45 a.m. any other way. We played music and fun was had, though tinged with unhappiness at my impending departure.

As for the trip home... I had no trouble falling asleep on plane this time! I was so tired at the airport that I fell asleep for a few minutes while sitting on the toilet. I was awake enough, however, to be astonished by the sheer size of Heathrow. I was also awake enough to be slightly amused by the failure of a couple "high-tech" devices: the motion-detector faucets in the Ladies room, and the monitors displaying flight times (running Windows 95, incidentally).
