I pulled an all-nighter on Wednesday night at the Conserv, in order to finish as much of the Beethoven essay as possible before handing it in for partial marks. It caught up to me today. I had been on the verge of falling asleep much of the day on Thursday, but appeared to get a brief second wind once I came home after dinner while listening to the news; perhaps fear and sadness has that effect. I woke up easily this morning at 8:30 (when my parents phoned*), but couldn't stay awake at all, despite hitting the snooze button for an hour or two.
I finally woke up for good (no alarm) at two o'clock, realized I had needed to collect an assignment (to be completed over the weekend) from Dr. E. at 10:30, and dashed off an email in the desperate hope that he might still be at the Conserv. (It's highly unlikely--he arrives at 7:30 in the morning, and usually leaves by 1:30.) I'll see if he left it in my mailbox when I go there later today. A photo is being taken of the vocal jazz groups, to present to Dr. E. for his retirement.
*They have been giving me wake-up calls almost every day, to supplement the effect of my three alarm clocks. It doesn't wake me up for more than a few minutes most days, but I'm grateful for the effort to which they're going.
