I have a term paper due and two exams in the next three days (and I'm sick), but I thought I should post something to indicate that I am in fact still in the land of the living. I've changed the default picture to something exotic and highly unusual: me wearing make-up. It was for the stage (The Sound of Pirates, and I did not apply it (frankly, I didn't know how). Still no photograph of me wearing the new glasses.

Live has been a whirlwind, especially since the beginning of November. Notable events about which I wish I had written:

choosing to play accordion for Fiddler on the Roof

a fun John Cage festival

thinking I had found an accompanist, only to lose her instantly

taping an audition for the National Youth Band. I figure I won't get in, but what the heck.

performing in Remember Susanna, a work created by a group of Sackvillians in collaboration with R. Murray Schafer. I was a sort of jack-of-all-trades (gofer? swing?)--choir, "dancing" chorus, percussion, and plugging in a stage light. Plans are being set in place for a performance at the Atlantic Music Festival (where it would be the only amateur piece), but I have to move out of residence two months before that.

Shortly after a mediation session with the monitor, my roommate moved out, very suddenly, with no prior notice. I still see her constantly though, and she has been ignoring me in public for several weeks. Apparently she didn't get the chance to tell me beforehand and she feels awkward about the situation, so I'm doing my best to avoid any hard feelings.

My beloved Choral Society was the only non-auditioned choir to perform in a (bilingual) choral concert in Moncton (the only bilingual city in Canada); the concert was taped for CBC Radio and will (apparently) be broadcast nationally a few days before Christmas. It went well, despite much poor planning by the organizers (not our director). Now, we're starting work on Brahms's German Requiem (yikes!)
