Mar. 27th, 2002 01:53 amSo, the performance of The Sound of Pirates went well. I still wenched passably and managed to sing more in tune at the same time than at the dress rehearsal. Both acts were supposed to be videotaped, but the person in the booth forgot to press "record", so our glorious Royal Navy dance overture is lost to posterity.
I had to shave my legs for my part as a wench. (This is not something I usually bother to do.) The entire time, I was thinking to myself, "what a stupid, barbaric, sexist, outdated practice...*grumble grumble*..." Well, that's over anyway.
The Pirates cast party last night / this morning was fun; much more fun than most cast parties, actually. The level of the music actually permitted real conversation, people remained sober enough to be interesting company, and we had a sing-along with guitar in between sessions of dancing. I and the fourth-year student playing Blackbeard showed ourselves to be geeks by knowing all of the words to "The Drinking Song" (Moxy Fruvous) by heart.
