My birthday was okay, as school days go. I managed to get up in time to eat breakfast at the meal hall and nearly get to my first class (9:30) on time. (This is a great accomplishment for me.) My near-punctuality came at a price, however; I forgot my text books, anthologies, laptop, and ruled paper at my house, so I had to make do without seeing the musical examples and write (messily) on staff paper.

Mum ordered a cake for me through a service offered by the food services (meal hall) company, with their assurance that it would be delivered. Sure enough, I was called in middle of the afternoon and told to pick it up myself at the meal hall. So, as I write now from the computer lab in the conservatory, my cake is sitting, partially eaten, in my locker downstairs. On the positive side, several people wished me a happy birthday when they saw me walking around carrying a cake.

I really should be finishing up here and heading home to get some sleep. Now that I've been to classes, the full extent of the workload that awaits this weekend has dawned upon me.

One other thing: I have been trying since September to get together a group of people to see The Arrogant Worms in a nearby city (either Fredericton or Halifax). It doesn't look like it's going to happen because though it's the closest they've played in years, the cities are both a three-hour drive away and all methods of public transportation cost at least $60 per round trip. Getting there and back in itself triples the price, which is absolutely ridiculous. I must say, I'm annoyed.

[I have a better photo of myself with the new glasses, but the computer with the scanner is still occupied...]

Happy b-day! :)

22! Ah, I remember it like it was yesterday ...

... well, a few thousand yesterdays. *ahem* Anyway, congrats on the cake! *holds out a paper plate* ;9

Sorry to hear about the concert, though.

Now *I* feel old.

Happy birthday, 'Frine! I didn't really feel old till I subtracted 22 from 2003. I was in grade 11 that year....

Anyway, hope it was a happy day...

Mmmmm... That userpic rocks my world. You haven't got a bigger scan of that, have you? It's terribly striking. (In honour of your lovely picture, I present a picture of how I used to look, many yesterdays ago.)

I quite like the photo, even in its bigger version. But then again, I've always liked languid expression (qv a lot of the people I've gone for in the past (and present) *g*). As for my photo, that would have been enough yesterdays ago for me to have just turned 17. I wish I could find the original of that picture - wonder if my mother has it somewhere.
