Not wanting to ride my bicycle for fifteen minutes in the pouring rain, I left it locked securely on main campus and took the bus home last night. I returned to it today to discover the panniers missing and with them my helmet, bicycle wrench, two screwdrivers, and dis-attached front light. It's more annoying than anything else because I now have to find time to go and buy all those things. Still, it brought an already poor day down to a lower level.
My flute playing is geting worse and worse as it hurts more and more... I need to get that physiotherapy under way.
In other news, I made it into the pit orchestra for Orfeo ed Euridice but didn't make it into the orchestra for Gypsy. I went to the dance auditions for Orfeo, quickly realized I was outclassed and left feeling slightly deflated. (Hey, at Mt A I would have gotten in!) Chorus auditions (for the opera) are tomorrow--although at what time I have no idea, seems to be some organizational mix-up--so I'll see how that goes. I didn't get into any choirs (for the first time in seven years!), so I was hoping for something to exercise my vocal chords. Either way, I'm in the orchestra and that in itself would be perfectly enjoyable.

When I was in high school, an organized group of kids broke into the locked garage of the house my mother was renting and stole my bicycle; the law said it wasn't worth their time to investigate because they already knew about the group, but the bicycle was probably already dismantled or repainted.
Still sorry to hear about yours, though. :/ Hope the license will help out with this sort of thing, later on.
Perhaps I should clarify...

Yeah, I was kind of angry, but it changed pretty quickly to annoyance at myself for doing something stupid like leaving the panniers out in the open overnight.

Yikes! Those certainly are *organized* kids. I have reported my (fairly minor) loss to Campus Security and they'll let me know if it turns up. The guy answering my call said that once the thief discovers there's no wallet in the bag (not too mention a bright yellow decade-old helmet that's exceptionally unfashionable), he/she might drop it somewhere.
