Well, sh*t
Oct. 8th, 2003 01:21 pmYou all know that I'm bad at quizzes/tests, right? And that because I have a learning disability I have to go through a meticulous and time-consuming process to get extra time on quizzes/tests? And that I have immense difficulty getting up in the morning? And that I've already been struggling with the increased workload? And that written assignments take me three times as long as the next person? And that, furthermore, I generally enjoy working with computers? Yes? Well...
Dear [Intro to Multimedia class]:
Recently the attendance in [Intro to Multimedia, takes place at 10am and 8:30am] has been falling significally. This is worrisome, since it means that you will not be able to do the required assignments effectively and will therefore not derive benefit from this course.
Please note therefore the following:
For Assignments 3, 4 and 5 the following will be included:
1) Written assignment dealing with the hardware and software covered in class.
2) Surprise quiz. This will be a surprise quiz given during the period from Thurs. Oct. 9 to Thurs. Nov. 6 inclusive. Note there will also be a quiz as part of Assts. 4 and 5. The quiz will be multiple choice and/or short answer, and will be administered in class.
3) Attendance: Attendance will be marked for all classes, between Thurs. Oct. 9 and Thurs. Nov. 28. Each future Assignment (i.e. Asst. 3, 4 and 5)
will have an attendance component.

I understand her frustration, but she could at least have given us some "attend class or else" warning. (Not targetting every single one of my weak points would have been nice too.) She's damn well right I'm not going to derive any benefit from the class... especially if I have to drop it.
