daah-duh dah dah dah daaaah!
Jan. 15th, 2004 11:01 pmSo yes, it's my birthday today. I am now officially 23 years old... and still an undergraduate student.
It was an interesting day. (Isn't that... interesting?) To begin celebrating at midnight, I stayed up nearly all night troubleshooting my CD burner's driver and doing Theory homework. By a massive effort of willpower (or more likely because I forgot to take my meds and never got fully into REM sleep), I managed to get up and ready almost in time for my first class.
In the course of a tightly scheduled day, I...
-ate nothing save an apple and some orange juice until dinner
-discovered to my relief that I have not fallen behind in my understanding of post-tonal theory
-once again glorified in the fact that I'm taking a class about opera
-heard more about the possible strike
-snapped my glasses in two when I tried to take them off after being outside
-enjoyed a challenging band rehearsal despite not being able to see too well with contacts, and
-met up with Mum (drove up to see me), with whom I did some grocery shopping, ate dinner in the dining hall, and shared the cake she brought in my residence room.
It was good to finally make it to more than one class a day. Though I'm still achey and mucus-ridden (too much information, I know), I think I might actually attain some normal level of health in the near future. I'd better get well. There are too many tasks to mention that I need to accomplish as soon as possible.
New userpics. The electro-narcissism continues.

Date: 2004-01-17 08:22 am (UTC)It's so cold it breaks glasses? *shudder* ... Well, more of a fear-shudder than a temperature-shudder ... then again, if it were that cold, there would be an attendant temperature-shu--...
*looks at blank stares*
... but I digress. *ahem*
*yay*@e-narcissism! Contented and silly pics are always good to see.
Since the b-day wishes are belated, I'll instead offer wishes for better health and desired accomplishment. :)

Date: 2004-01-17 11:20 am (UTC)The cold weather was merely the last straw for my glasses. Somebody stepped on them a couple months ago while I was napping on the couch in the music building. (He managed to not only kick them off the top of my school bag but also step on them once they landed. Admittedly, I shouldn't have left them on the bag on the floor, but I didn't have a glasses case with me so there wasn't much else to do.) I bent them back into shape, but the metal hinge was weakened.
