Mar. 23rd, 2004 01:43 amWe listened to non-operatic music for the first time in opera class today. The pieces were the intro to "One Night in Bangkok" from Chess (hello,
soubrette!), and "Walk Like an Egyptian". The professor said "One Night..." is his favourite musical example of Exoticism (today's topic of study). Typical... a man obsessed with opera is also a fan of musicals. *g*
The New Testament professor handed out the take-home exam tonight. It's intended to take four or five days to complete and we're expected to do fairly extensive research. Frankly, I would have preferred a regular exam. All the same, he's allowing me to use this week to complete the previous essay (25%) and to finish the take-home (40%) next week. What a sweetheart! If only I'd known that beforehand; I would have studied for the weekly quiz and completed the weekly article summary for opera class last night instead of cramming for what I thought was going to be a 24-hour take-home!
