Sep. 11th, 2004 08:12 amSo another person called me "Sir" yesterday. In all fairness, he was approaching from a distance and I was wearing very unisex clothing and sitting hunched over a newspaper. The incredibly polite young man had asked for directions; i.e. the response would require me to talk. "Uh-oh," I thought, "He's going to be embarassed." was okay. Poor guy.
Earlier that evening, I attended a speech and Q&A with (former Lt.-Gen.) Romeo Dallaire. It provided much to think about. He is a compelling speaker, modest, and unbelievably optimistic considering his experiences.
