(no subject)

Let's say you're playing bass clarinet in a pit orchestra. The music director has asked you to cover the parts in the Reed V book; your role is very important because you fill out the lower end of the harmonies. You come across some numbers in your book written for bassoon and baritone saxophone--and there is no bassoon or baritone sax player in the orchestra. Wouldn't it make sense to transpose those sections and play them?

Yeah, that's what I thought. The person in question doesn't see it that way.

(Sheesh! I spend two thirds of my time imitating an oboe or clarinet, for crying out loud.)

Its because people at Queen's a dumbasses, present company accepted of course...

GOOD! It's damn ass cold here...but I survived the first term :)
